A Message from the Superintendent
August 3, 2021 Bond Proposal
To Our Carson City-Crystal School District Families, Staff, and Community:
In an effort to continue to provide a safe and valuable learning environment for our students and community, we took the time last year to assess our facilities, allowing us to identify and evaluate critical infrastructure needs across both of our school buildings and our athletic field. After reviewing the evaluations provided by our architect/engineering and construction partners with our sub-committee on building, site, and finance, our recommendation to the Board of Education was unanimously approved on April 12, 2021 to support a new bond proposal seeking approval from the community to make select improvements district-wide.
On August 3, 2021, voters in the Carson City-Crystal Area School District will be asked to consider a $5.65 million bond proposal to make improvements at both school buildings and the athletic field to update infrastructure and address critical needs. The estimated millage to be levied for the proposed bonds is 0.78 mill for a -0- ZERO mill net increase over the prior year’s levy, except for the former Palo Community School district, which will have a 0.78 mill increase over the prior year’s levy.
Additional details on the proposed improvements can be found within the FAQ tab and the Improvements tab on this website. We’ve also included a Tax Impact tab to help demonstrate the tax impact of this bond program.
Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions regarding our bond program. I encourage you to explore this website for more information and to stay connected as we provide updates with the latest news and information on our bond proposal throughout the upcoming months. We sincerely value your questions and input.
